We are currently working exclusively with Northern Gritstone, a leading investment business founded by the universities of Leeds, Manchester, and Sheffield who support exceptional entrepreneurs and cutting-edge technologies across key sectors including advanced materials, AI, quantum computing, and life sciences.
Due to continued growth, they are currently recruiting for a recent graduate with a passion for startups, innovation, and making things happen! You’ll work directly with some of the North’s most exciting early-stage companies – helping them grow, access funding, and get investor-ready. This role offers hands-on experience across key areas like business support, marketing, talent, fundraising, and growth.
The main duties of the role will include but will not be limited to:-
Supporting Innovation Projects and Events
- Be the main person coordinating events, activities, and communication related to new business support.
- Work with external partners to plan dates and run workshops.
- Help keep in touch with business founders and make sure they stay engaged.
- Collect and organise data, support with research, and track key progress.
- Create documents, presentations, and promotional materials to share with partners and other organisations.
Business Support Services
(Temporary cover from October 2025 to March 2026)
- Be the main contact for companies needing business support.
- Respond to requests and connect companies with the right expert advisors.
- Collect feedback from companies to monitor feedback on service levels
- Keep track of activities and results and lead on reporting.
Marketing and Communications
- Help create content for social media, emails, and events.
- Assist in the creation of digital content, case studies, and event materials.
- Help track engagement and impact of communications efforts.
Recruitment Support
- Support with startup hiring needs
- Create impactful case studies to showcase the impact of the talent team
Funding Support
- Help prepare pitch materials for businesses seeking funding.
- Research investors and assist with investor outreach.
Business Growth
- Support planning and strategy sessions with business owners.
- Help track progress and prepare materials to support growth.
- Keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
- Support business founders and track their progress.
- Prepare presentations, materials, and updates for partners and stakeholders.
Skills and experience required for this role:-
- A recent graduate (or final year student) from any subject.
- Strong communication skills – both writing and speaking.
- Very organised, reliable, and excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable managing several tasks at once.
- A quick learner who enjoys problem solving.
- Confident using Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
